Krish was born on 16th May 2010, approximately 3 weeks and 1 day ago. In this post I am trying to recollect the 9 months or so before then.
We found out that Devina was expecting in mid-November 2009 at the Clementine Churchill Hospital in Harrow under the guidance of consultant Mr Onsy Louca. I remember Mr Louca telling Devina that she was pregnant. She was carrying a tea in her hand (because we had been in the waiting area for about 45 minutes) and walking down the corridor. I was really proud, happy, excited and looking for her reaction. She couldn't believe it. She started walking more slowly as the news sunk in. Tears rolled down her eyes. I was really proud of my wife.
Mr Louca asked us to do an ultrasound. We did. Heard Krish's heart beat for the very first time. Tidal wave hit us both. Life changed. Forever.
Neem, my kid sister, picked us up from the hospital. She started jumping and crying with joy when we broke the news. We rushed home and skyped Mum and Dad in Kisumu. They both had tears of joy as well. Then we drove to Devina's Mum's and Dad's and shared the news with them.
Over the coming months, Devina's tummy started becoming bigger, she went on maternity leave and we settled into a routine. She used to walk one hour everyday in our local Harrow neighbourhood. We prepared the nursery at the last minute, completed the antenatal classes and picked Northwick Park Birth Centre as the place to deliver Krish.
You hear that life changes, people advised me to watch as much football and F1 as I could now, freedom will return after 25 years they said. All I knew was that someone special was going to join our little world, and in the last few days of the pregnancy I couldn't wait to meet him.

The First Entry
Today is Monday 7th June 2010. I am Krish's father, Dhruv, and over the weekend I decided to start a blog to record Devina's and my adventures in bringing up Krish. I am convinced that we will look back on these days with great fondness.
Krish, himself, may want to read it and share the pleasures and pains in his upbringing :-)
So here I go...
